The $43 million that people gave to Ibram X Kendi and Boston University’s Center for Anti-Racist Research is a huge sum for any University balance sheets and that incoming cash is the measure of a University’s quality and attractiveness to donors and applicants. Boston University has a lot of competition in its backyard. Its $3 billion endowment is dwarfed by its neighbor Harvard’s $53 billion war chest. MIT boasts $24.6 billion.
