a segment of the salaried masses that wants to expand the non-industrial, information based, or non-productive segment of economic activity in order that it may have a larger share of surplus value. It does this by serving capitalists and facilitating their takeover of public goods (including healthcare, public education, pensions, public housing, etc.) It denigrates manual and industrial labor (wants to replace it with robots and offshore dirty industries in its fantasy of climate policies). Worshipful of the market, it is hostile and resentful of any forces and activities that have a claim on aesthetic autonomy.
